Dobbiaco (German: Toblach)
is a comune in the province of Bolzano-Bozen in the Italian region
Trentino - Alto Adige / Sudtirol, located in the Val Pusteria about
110 km northeast of the city of Trento and about 70 km northeast of
the city of Bolzano (Bozen), on the border with Austria.
Dobbiaco had a population of about 3.000 and an area of 126.6 kmē.
About 86% of the population speak German, 14% Italian as first
language
The municipality of Dobbiaco contains the frazione (subdivisions,
mainly villages and hamlets) Aufkirchen and Wahlen.
Dobbiaco borders the following municipalities: Gsies, Innichen,
Niederdorf, Prags, Auronzo di Cadore, Cortina d'Ampezzo and
Innervillgraten (Austria).
The beautiful Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Drei Zinnen) are located in the
nearby.
